Karen Erickson CFP®, RRC
Karen is the co-lead of our practice, focusing on the high-net-worth client experience, investment planning, and charitable giving. Karen's career with IG began in 1997 as a marketing assistant. By 2006, she decided to lead her own practice and obtained her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® designation in 2007, well before it became popular. She understood the importance of education and dedication to the industry's professionalism.
Recognized by IG as a strong business practice leader, Karen took on the role of Division Director for five years, followed by a five-year tenure as Regional Vice President for the Okanagan Region. In March 2019, she decided to step down from management to partner with her daughter Kayla, who was already in the industry. That same year, Karen was honored as one of Kelowna's Top 40 Over 40.
A finalist for the Kelowna Women in Business Woman of the Year 2024, Karen has continually demonstrated her leadership within the business community. A dedicated philanthropist, she completed a six-year term on the board of United Way, volunteers annually at the local Alzheimer’s Walk, and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Seniors Outreach Centre in Kelowna. In 2021, she received the prestigious "Herbert H. Carnegie" award, which recognizes outstanding client service and a strong commitment to community, an award that can only be earned once in a career.
Karen also has her own Strategic Charitable Giving legacy donor-advised fund, underscoring her commitment to giving back and creating a lasting impact.
